ISO certification and BIS product licensing

ISO certification demonstrates your management systems meet international standards; BIS certification is mandatory for a growing list of products sold in India. We manage documentation and liaison with certifying bodies for both.

OVERVIEW

ISO & BIS Certification

ISO certification (9001 for quality management, 14001 for environmental management, 27001 for information security, among others) is voluntary but increasingly expected by enterprise customers, tenders and export buyers as proof your processes meet an international benchmark.

BIS certification is different — for a defined list of products under the Bureau of Indian Standards' mandatory certification scheme, the ISI mark is a legal requirement to manufacture or import, not just a competitive advantage.

We prepare the documentation, coordinate with accredited certification bodies and BIS laboratories, and manage the audit and inspection process on your behalf, whichever certification you need.

PROCESS

What to expect, step by step

01

Gap assessment

We assess your current processes or product against the applicable ISO standard or Indian Standard (IS) specification.

02

Documentation

Quality manuals, SOPs and records prepared or adjusted to meet the certifying body's or BIS's documentation requirements.

03

Application & audit/testing

For ISO: application to a certification body and the certification audit. For BIS: product testing at a BIS-recognised laboratory.

04

Corrective action

Where the audit or test raises non-conformities, we help you close them out before the certifying body issues certification.

05

Certificate & renewal tracking

Certificate issued (ISO certificates typically valid 3 years with annual surveillance; BIS licences require periodic renewal), and we track the renewal calendar.

Documents & information we'll need

  • Company registration documents and details of the site(s) to be certified.
  • Existing process documentation, SOPs or quality manual, if any.
  • For BIS: product technical specifications, manufacturing process details and sample units for testing.
  • Details of the specific ISO standard or Indian Standard (IS number) you're certifying against.
